    Greetings

Hi  folks  I'm 51 years old a father of 4. Been listening DS&MK since 78. I'm one of the unlucky ones. Never seen Mark live. The man is a true wonder. His writing and playing is.... well nothing can compare. There is so many questions I hope in the days ahead you good people lead me down the right street. Thanks

    Re: Greetings

    Hi drc457,

As another lover of the music since '78 or so, I did not see Mark and band until 2006 and just recently.

But lots of hope as I hear they are looking forward to coming back this way! I often think that even when you see them, you still miss so much! They are that good! ha ha

    Regards from US.

Hello and Welcome: You are absolutely right denmark, and I am one example of somebody that has asked many questions and most of them have been answered..And I must admit that denmark is a great contributor to this site with excellent answers, ingenious threads, patience and patience for dumb questions but specially for his unselfishness in sharing all his knowledge on the subject which is vast I must admit....So yes, welcome drc457 and enjoy this excellent site about Mark Knopfler..............................................Regards from Colombia..................."Then I recall my fall from grace, another time, another place".........Yes

    Re: Greetings

Again thanks all of you kind people. Some of you know much more then I about Mark.I'd love to ask why Begin to use a volume pedal. That  makes his guitar almost speak or at least extend his own soul. Why did he begin playing out of phase between the first and middle pick-up. I find Mark is a person whom plays and sings in the adage "It's not what you say but how you say it"That to me sets him so far apart from all the rest. "If I only had you" is one of favorites among so many more. Writing a love song  so well that I cannot put into words
